Bologna forward Ciro Immobile stated that the goal he scored in the penalty shootout against Inter Milan in the Italian Super Cup semifinal holds special significance for him. The striker acknowledged that he had been unable to score for three and a half months, a situation that had caused him great concern.
“I really needed this goal. I suffered for three and a half months, but my family stayed by my side.
The team also seemed to sense that I would score this evening,” Immobile said at a press conference. He also praised the performance of goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia, who saved three shots during the match, and emphasized that Bologna is determined to win the tournament's trophy.
In the final, Vincenzo Italiano’s team will face Napoli. Napoli advanced to the final by defeating AC Milan in the other semifinal.
