The Italian Championship match between AC Milan and Como will not take place in Australia. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, extended negotiations have ended unsuccessfully.
The cancellation of the game was triggered by conditions set by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Earlier, the media reported that the main obstacle to holding the game, which was scheduled for February 8 in Perth, was the inability of AC Milan and Como to bring referees from Italy.
Nevertheless, it was mentioned earlier that organizing such a match in Serie A was still possible. Interestingly, a match between Villarreal and Barcelona recently took place in Spain.
This match had been planned for Miami; however, the plan fell through. Apparently, a similar situation occurred with the Serie A match.
We now await the league’s official statement. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
