Kafanov Comments on Safonov Award

PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov was recently named the team's best player for December by the prestigious publication Le Parisien. Local coach Vitaliy Kafanov shared his thoughts on the Russian goalkeeper's achievement.

"The fact that a Russian player has been recognized as the best player for one of the strongest clubs in the world once again proves that inviting Matvey to such a big club was not a mistake," the specialist was quoted as saying by Match TV. Recently, in a match against Flamengo, Safonov saved four consecutive penalties, securing the Intercontinental Cup for the Parisians.

Kafanov emphasized that this success would remain a historic milestone in Matvey's career. During the current season, the former Krasnodar player has made four appearances, conceding three goals.
