Barcelona head coach Hans-Dieter Flick shared his views on the need to strengthen the team’s defense. According to him, increasing the number of defenders in the squad is currently one of the most pressing topics.
"We need a new player in the back line. This decision has to make sense. Making such a transfer in January won’t be easy, but it’s an important issue for us," Flick said.
Flick also noted that he expects the team’s center-back Gerard Araujo to return to action soon:
"When Ronald comes back is his personal decision. When he feels ready, he will return to the pitch. His teammates are supporting him and are always ready to help."
Barcelona are currently top of the La Liga table, leading with 46 points after 18 matches. They are 4 points ahead of second-placed Real.
Therefore, strengthening Barcelona’s defensive line is crucial, and both new signings and Araujo’s return will play a major role in the club’s future.
