Uzbekistan national team and Manchester City defender Abduqodir Husanov has been named the best footballer of 2025 by Goalpost. His future is very bright, and this result marks the beginning of major success.
2025 has been a very fortunate year for Husanov. In January, he joined Manchester City and became the first Uzbek player in Premier League history—an important milestone for Uzbek football. The 21-year-old centre-back won Goalpost’s “Best Young Player” award. He finished ahead of big names such as Abbosbek Fayzullayev (Istanbul Basaksehir), Nestory Irankunda (Watford, Australia), Marselino Ferdinan (Oxford United, Indonesia) and others.
