
The AFC U-23 Asian Cup, set to take place in Saudi Arabia on January 6–24, is drawing strong interest as a youth football tournament. Uzbekistan’s U-21 national team has been placed in Group C and will face South Korea, Iran, and Lebanon.
Uzbekistan’s youth national team, coached by Ravshan Haydarov, will play its opening match of the tournament against Lebanon on January 7. The game will be a major test for the young players, helping them prepare for the competition and giving the team a chance to assess the next generation on the international stage.
Uzbekistan’s key objective is to strengthen preparation for future major tournaments and determine each player’s role within the national team setup. The competition will be Uzbekistan’s first international tournament of the new year and will also provide an opportunity to showcase a refreshed squad and the potential of young talents.
Uzbekistan U-21’s other group matches will be played on the following dates:
- January 10: Iran vs Uzbekistan
- January 13: Uzbekistan vs South Korea
Each match will open up big opportunities for young footballers and serve as an excellent platform to demonstrate their abilities in international competitions. This tournament is important for Uzbekistan’s future growth and for identifying new football talents.
