Guardiola praises Semenyo’s first games for City

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola reviewed the first appearances of new signing Antoine Semenyo, a €75 million winger brought in from Bournemouth, and gave a high assessment of his performances.

Speaking to BBS, Guardiola said:

“We saw what an excellent job Bournemouth did with Semenyo. When I watch him now, every time the ball comes to him, he’s always in the right place and ready to take advantage of the situation.”

The Ghanaian has featured in two matches for Manchester City and delivered goal contributions in both. His energy was especially evident against Exeter in the FA Cup, where he scored and provided an assist.

In the League Cup semi-final against Newcastle, Semenyo also scored the decisive goal, helping his side to a 2–0 win.

This season, the 26-year-old Semenyo has played 23 matches in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and registering 4 assists. His intensity and efficiency are proving vital for the team. Guardiola highlighted the major impact the new arrival is already making.
