Uzbekistan to host FIFA Series-2026: opponents revealed

Uzbekistan has also been selected as one of the hosts of the international “FIFA Series-2026” tournament organized by FIFA. This is not just a regular friendly for national teams — it’s a chance to gain experience against opponents from different continents and with different styles, while also improving positions in the FIFA ranking as well.
According to sources, as part of this series, the national teams of Iceland, Gabon and Trinidad and Tobago will visit our country. It is noted that the @perspectivefootball.id page on social media also reported this.
Interestingly, Uzbekistan is mentioned among the countries that have already identified their future opponents for the tournament — meaning organizational preparations are also going “according to plan.” For fans, this means one thing: in March, in Tashkent (or the host city/cities), football could shift into a “yes, this is how it should be” format.
According to official FIFA information, “FIFA Series-2026” matches are planned around the March–April international window for national teams (in particular, the March window falls on 23–31 March).
Now the main intrigue is on the pitch. Iceland’s disciplined European football, Gabon’s speed- and physicality-based style, or Trinidad and Tobago’s “CONCACAF tempo” — all in one series. For us, such games provide one thing: real, useful “not on paper, but on the pitch” experience on the road to the 2026 World Cup.
