Marc Guehi joins Manchester City: official bid and deal

Manchester City have taken another major step in the winter transfer window by signing Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The transfer process is said to have accelerated sharply. According to Fabrizio Romano, City made a big offer in the last 12 hours and also presented a serious proposal on the player’s terms. It was also noted that, if needed, the club are ready to step up negotiations with Crystal Palace.
According to Romano, the 25-year-old Guehi, an England international defender, was bought for €20 million. Notably, Manchester City reportedly beat rivals Bayern Munich and Liverpool in the race for the transfer. However, the contract length has not yet been disclosed.
A key detail: Transfermarkt values Marc Guehi at around €55 million. That suggests City have wrapped up the move as a very strong value-for-money deal.
Now there’s one main question: how quickly will Guehi settle into Guardiola’s system? If he adapts fast, competition in City’s defence will heat up even more — and that’s only a plus for the team.
