Glasner's criticism fueled a scandal at Crystal Palace: resignation is near

The situation around Crystal Palace has escalated. The club's Supervisory Board chairman, Steve Perish, was furious after head coach Oliver Glasner's critical statements directed at management. This was reported by Sky Sports.
According to the source, the London club is seriously considering the possibility of dismissing the Austrian coach. That is, it's not about ordinary "emotions" or "harsh words at press conferences" - it has reached the level of a decision.
It all started after the 1-2 draw against Sunderland in the 22nd round of the Premier League. After the match, Glasner strongly criticized team captain Mark Gehry for being sold to Manchester City one day before the game. His words openly "targeted" both the mood within the team and the decisions of the management.
Reports indicate that Perish was primarily dissatisfied with Glasner's statement that "the club has left us to the mercy of fate." The coach didn't stop there: he recalled midfielder Eberechi Eze being sold to Arsenal under similar circumstances that summer. That is, according to Glasner's position, this problem is not one-day - it's a recurring scenario.
Glasner's main claim is very simple, but heavy: although he wants to change the situation on the field with substitutions, his chances are limited. Because the team has, he emphasized, only 12-13 ready players at their disposal, and almost all young players are sitting on the bench. Through this thought, the coach openly expressed the meaning that "you are demanding results from me, but you are taking away the weapon yourself."
Now the club's management is considering the possibility of Glasner's immediate dismissal. That's not all: it was previously reported that the coach did not want to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season. So, the relationship has already cooled down, and the current situation is becoming the "explosion point."
Interestingly, Mark Gehry's topic has been a major issue at the club before. As previously mentioned, Liverpool came very close to acquiring Gexi in the summer, but Glasner suspended the transfer at the time, threatening to resign. This fact further demonstrates the coach's view of Geh as a strategic figure for the team.
The conclusion is this: at Crystal Palace, the problem lies not only in the defeat, but also in the trust between management and sports results. If the management wants to restore "order" with a firm hand - the first victim could be the coach. But if the problem stems from the depth of the squad and transfer policy, it won't be easy to "solve" everything with one manager leaving.
