A press conference was held ahead of the elite ACL match between Nasaf and Al Shorta. The head coach of the Qarshi team, Ro'ziqul Berdiyev, and midfielder Oybek Rustamov participated and expressed their open and confident opinions about the upcoming match.
First of all, Berdiyev said that he was pleased to meet with journalists again before the new season and emphasized the importance of tomorrow's clash. In his opinion, the game of teams that are lower in the tournament table is often even more interesting. The reason is simple: in such disputes, "there is little to lose, but much to win."
"The game of the teams at the end of the table will always be full of struggle. Both sides will make every effort to restore their position and improve their position. The guys are ready for the match. I hope both the game and the result will please the fans," Berdiyev commented.
One of the most interesting points at the press conference was Oybek Rustamov's speech. Because he is on the verge of playing his first international match for the new team. The midfielder stated that he was feeling well and the team was in good spirits, highlighting the goal as pleasing the fans.
"As the coach said, we are ready for the match. I'm also particularly interested in the first international match for my new team. We will try to please the fans," said Rustamov.
When journalists asked him why he chose Nasaf, Oybek gave a short and clear answer: "Nasaf is one of the strongest clubs in Uzbekistan, and he chose this team specifically for growth and development.
Berdiyev highlighted another important aspect: in such matches, a player shouldn't feel excessive pressure. In his opinion, if the guys move freely on the field, then there will be a game. It was noted that for this purpose, training was organized on the basis of a plan through training camps and control meetings. In this process, the formation of team play with new players and testing of young players were also carried out.
The schedule is also very tight: after "Al Shorta," the match with "Sharjah" will begin, followed by Super League matches. Berdiyev noted that these clashes are important in "boiling" the team before the championship and bringing it to a real form. Preparation may not be ideal yet, but enthusiasm, discipline, and understanding the importance of results are the main requirements.
One of the biggest questions, naturally, was about the lineup. Berdiyev admitted that 7-8 players left Nasaf and did not hide that this was a big loss. However, he emphasized that the club has a system, such times have happened before, and "Nasaf" has managed to get out of such situations. That is, the team's path doesn't stop - the squad changes, the goal doesn't change.
When it comes to plans for 2026, Berdiyev remained in the traditional position: "Nasaf's goal is always high. Even in the current situation, there is a good squad, the youth team has been reviewed, and if harmony is achieved, the team will fight for higher places again.
In short, before the Nasaf-Al Shorta match, the team's mood is serious: there are no excessive promises, but there is confidence. Now it's about the field - the fans are waiting, and the team will try to confirm this confidence with the game and results.
