Carlsen and Caruana in the final: Abdusattorov will fight for third place...

The names of the finalists of the World Freestyle Chess Championship have been officially announced. In the decisive match of the tournament, Norwegian legend Magnus Carlsen and American grandmaster Fabiano Caruana will compete.
In the semi-finals, Carlsen won a very serious match against Nodirbek Abdusattorov. In the first two games, the sides “caught up” with each other - the games were equal, and the fight was fierce. However, in the third and fourth games, experience and composure spoke for themselves: Carlsen took the upper hand and decided the match in his favor.
The most unfortunate thing is that in the third game, Abdusattorov had a good position. However, after one mistake, the situation changed dramatically - the Norwegian grandmaster did not miss the opportunity and “closed” the game. As a result, Nodirbek was deprived of the opportunity to equalize the score.
This final is Carlsen's second final in the official Fischer World Championship (Freestyle Chess). He previously played in the final against Wesley So in the 2019 tournament.
In the second semi-final, Caruana defeated the reigning Weissenhaus champion Vincent Keimer and advanced to the final. In the remaining matches, Javakhir Sindarov lost to Arjun Erigaisi, and Levon Aronian lost to Hans Niemann.
Thus, Arjun Erigaisi and Hans Niemann will face each other for fifth place. In the seventh place match, Javakhir Sindarov will play Levon Aronian. One of the most interesting matches for third place is expected - Nodirbek Abdusattorov will fight for the prize place against Vincent Keymer.
In short, if it is Carlsen - Caruana in the final, then for the fans it is a ready-made "drama" and a ready-made "chess show". Nodirbek, on the other hand, can have his say in the match for third place - in such tournaments, one victory can radically change both the mood and the result.
