Manchester City's management is seriously considering cementing the right wing during the summer transfer window, not just once, but for years to come. According to the British press, the Citizens are keeping the option of signing 23-year-old Newcastle United right-back Valentino Livramento among their main plans.
According to reports, according to talkSPORT, the Manchester club has been closely monitoring the player for several months. If this transfer happens, City wants to maintain stability in this very position for years: it's no secret that the right-back's role is frequently changing within the team.
This season alone, various options were tested on the right wing. Rico Lewis, Mateusz Nunes, and Abdukodir Khusanov took turns playing there. Among this trio, Nunesh appeared most effective in this role and is currently considered the main option. Husanov, despite being a central defender, managed to impress the fans with his reliable wing-up. But it's also worth remembering that the player himself recently said that he prefers to play in the center.
Another important point: the natural position of these three players is not a "classical right-back." Therefore, it seems logical that "City" is looking for a player like Livramento who is suitable for this position, quick, and tactically mature.
Of course, Newcastle United is not unaware of such interest. It's noted that the club's management is well aware that several teams are eavesdropping on Livramento and are working on extending his current contract.
