Uzbekistan enters the top 10 of the AFC rankings: equals Australia

The Asian Football Confederation has published its ranking of men's club competitions between the 2025/2026 season, in which Uzbekistan entered the top ten. According to official AFC data, our representatives ranked 10th with 46.6 points. Notably, Australia, ranked 9th, has the same score - 46.6.

This result is a serious signal for Uzbek club football. Because entering the top ten in the continental ranking is not just a number, but a practical indicator of participation, points accumulation, and competitiveness in the international arena in recent years. Now, the further progress of our clubs, such as "Neftchi" and "Pakhtakor," in international competitions may allow us to further improve this position.

The top ten in the AFC mid-season ranking was updated as follows:

1. Saudi Arabia - 122 points

2. Japan - 109 points

3. South Korea - 85.5 points

4. UAE - 74.2 points

5. Iran - 68.9 points.

6. Qatar - 64.5 points.

7. Thailand - 58.7 points.

8. China - 49.4 points

9. Australia - 46.6 points

10. Uzbekistan - 46.6 points.

In the context of Central Asia, Uzbekistan leads with an obvious advantage. According to the mid-season ranking, Turkmenistan is in 19th place with 25.8 points, Tajikistan is in 23rd place with 21.6 points, and Kyrgyzstan is in 26th place with 19.3 points. This means that Uzbek clubs are currently showing the most stable results in the region.

In short, this rating is not a ready-made conclusion that "everything is fine," but a door to great opportunities. While scoring the same points as Australia, a single successful move or a decisive victory could take Uzbekistan even higher. Now it's our clubs' turn: getting into the top 10 is good, and staying strong there is even more important.
