The OKMK team, which lost 0:1 to "Khorezm" in the 2nd round of the Super League, brought head coach Mirjalol Kosimov to the podium at the post-match press conference. The experienced specialist spoke openly about the game: the opponent's enthusiasm, the inexplicable decline in his team, the problem of missing a goal, and the danger from set pieces - everything was mentioned.
"It was an interesting game, but we were eliminated in the second half"
Kasimov emphasized that the match was generally spectacular. AGMK played as best they could and didn't play badly in the first half either. However, the coach was also surprised by the team's seemingly "calmness" in the second half.
He recalled that this situation was also observed in the previous match against "Bunyodkor": in that match too, the first half went well, and in the second half there was sluggishness. It was said that this time the same scenario was repeated.
As a result, "Khorezm" missed their chance and scored a goal. AGMK, although it created opportunities, could not take advantage of them.
Realization problem: "we can't get what we have"
Kasimov openly stated: the main "pain point" in the team is realization. That is, there is a possibility, but there is no accuracy in the decisive blow. The coach emphasized that this aspect definitely needs improvement, congratulated "Khorezm" on the victory, and said that his team will learn the right lessons from mistakes.
He also noted that the start of the season began with unexpected events for OKMK. But he didn't just take it negatively, he expressed the thought that "this could have a positive side too" - meaning it would cause the team to wake up faster.
"There aren't many chances in such games"
In the second question, when the coach was asked "why didn't the plans work?" Qosimov pointed out an important point: goal opportunities don't often appear in matches of this type. Therefore, it is necessary to maximize the use of one or two encountered opportunities.
In his opinion, at the beginning of the championship, the team is creating few chances, which itself is a signal. At the same time, it was noted that most of the goals came after the set pieces. For OKMK, this is precisely what's "provoking": it was the same against "Bunyodkor," and this time too, the issue of post-standards defense and general attention is coming up.
According to Kasimov, the players' eyes should be "burning" from the first minute of the game, and this spirit should be maintained until the end. Otherwise, even a momentary relaxation in the second half will make a big difference.
In short, OKMK's problem isn't the same: a decline in the second half, a weakening in standards, and most importantly - a sale. Now the task for the Almalyk team is clear: to correct mistakes quickly, to play both halves of the game at the same "golden tempo," and not to "gift" chances.
