Igor Tudor said he remains confident about the future of "Tottenham" despite the club’s exit from the Champions League. The London side beat Madrid’s "Atletico" in their latest match, but the result was not enough to secure a place in the next round of the competition.
After the game, Tudor was asked when "Tottenham" could expect to return to European tournaments. The coach said he does not see that happening next season, but believes the club can be back the year after. He added that the players are still motivated after last season’s success and want another chance to compete in Europe and fight for trophies.
Tudor’s comments come at a difficult time for the team in domestic competition. "Tottenham" are currently only 16th in the Premier League table, a position that leaves them far from the places that normally bring European qualification. Even so, the coach made clear that he believes the squad can rebuild and aim higher in the near future.
