Scaloni confirms Messi's participation in Zambia match

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has announced the players' new friendly schedule and Lionel Messi's participation in the match against Zambia on April 1.
Although the Albiceleste defeated Mauritania 2-1 in the last friendly match, the players expressed some dissatisfaction with the quality of the team's performance. Messi's appearance in the second half was considered an important moment for the team.
Scaloni said in an interview with ESPN: "This is a positive sign. The players understood that there was a failure in the game and accepted it; in the last match we were not effective as a team. They played well, but they are intelligent and understand what is happening. This is a very good opportunity to evaluate where we are. Let's hope it was just one game."
Argentina will face Algeria, Austria and Jordan in Group J of the 2026 World Cup. The team is a hot favourite among fans and Messi's return has raised hopes.
