Abduvohid Ne’matov openly and sharply commented on the controversial penalty

Within the Super League, after the tense and uncompromising match between “Nasaf” and “Kokand-1912” (1:1), the team’s goalkeeper Abduvohid Ne’matov shared his opinion about the game, especially focusing on the controversial penalty episode.
After the match, journalists first asked about his injury. According to the goalkeeper, the condition is not serious: “It’s not bad, I will try to recover in two or three days and return to the squad for the next game,” he said. At the same time, he added that the exact diagnosis will be known after examinations.
Speaking about the most discussed moment of the match — the awarded penalty, Ne’matov expressed rather sharp views. According to him, in that situation he played only for the ball and even smiled when the penalty was given: “I played the ball. When the penalty was awarded, I was surprised. This situation has happened before — last season in the match against ‘Dynamo’, the same referee also made a controversial decision,” the goalkeeper recalled.
In Ne’matov’s opinion, if there had been a real foul, he would not have denied it: “If it had been a foul worthy of a penalty, I would have said it myself. My conscience is clear. The referee said I brought the opponent down with my leg. But I am a goalkeeper, I mainly play with my hands. How could I bring him down with my leg instead of my hands? Does that even make sense?” he openly expressed his dissatisfaction.

In short, this episode once again fueled debates around refereeing decisions. Fans have different opinions: some support the referee, while others consider Ne’matov’s words fair. In football, such moments always increase intrigue and emotion.
