The head coach of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, shared his thoughts after the Premier League Round 32 match against Bournemouth, which ended 1:2.
The manager did not hide that he was very disappointed with the result, but also acknowledged the team’s overall effort. According to him, Arsenal had gone 11 matches unbeaten up to the final rounds and during that period the players showed many positive aspects.
As Arteta noted, the main issue in the match against Bournemouth was a lack of efficiency in finishing chances. He also emphasized that in football any result is possible and that this is a natural part of the game.
— “We are disappointed with the result. Now everything depends on our reaction. The team had gone a long time without defeat, the players did many things right. But today we lacked efficiency. This is football,” Arteta said.
In his opinion, the players must psychologically accept this defeat and recover quickly. Otherwise, the team could drop out of the fight. He also noted that a very important week lies ahead, which could have a decisive impact on the season.
At the moment, Arsenal are still leading the Premier League table with 70 points.
