Forward of Saudi Arabian club “Al-Nassr” and Portugal national team star Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about the possibility of participating in the 2030 FIFA World Cup. By that time, he will be 45 years old.
Ronaldo emphasized that he still has not given up on the idea of stepping onto the pitch at the biggest football tournament.
“I have not yet given up on the possibility of playing at the 2030 World Cup. I am 41 now and I score goals every week, so I might be able to play for another four years,” he told DAZN journalists.
The 2030 World Cup will become one of the most unusual tournaments in history. It is planned to be hosted across six countries — Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. The opening matches will take place in South America, while the main stage of the tournament will be held in Europe and Africa.
It should be noted that at the 2026 World Cup, the Portugal national team led by Ronaldo will compete in Group “K” together with Uzbekistan, Colombia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Portugal’s best result in World Cup history so far is third place in 1966.
The football legend still does not intend to leave the big stage and is striving to write a new chapter in history.
