Bernardo Silva Discusses Manchester City Farewell

Bernardo Silva spoke about his farewell to Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has announced his departure from the club at the end of the season and sent a heartfelt message to the fans.

In his address, he recalled his nine years with the "Citizens" as the most significant period of his life. He said the club gave him more achievements and memories than he had ever dreamed of:

“Citizens! When I came here nine years ago, I followed the dream of a young boy to succeed in life and do great things. This city and this club have given me so much more than that. More than I even dared to dream,” Silva wrote.

Silva listed the achievements during this period, highlighting historic successes such as the 100-point season, the domestic quadruple, Champions League triumph, and four consecutive league titles as important milestones in his career:

“The achievements we have accomplished together are a legacy that will forever remain in my heart. A 100-point season, a domestic quadruple, a treble, four league titles in a row, and many more achievements… It wasn't bad,” Silva wrote.

The footballer also emphasized that he started a family in Manchester and that the city has become his second home. He expressed special gratitude to the important people in his life – his family:

“In a few months, it will be time to say goodbye not only to a club that has achieved so much success but also to a city where I started my family life and got married. From the bottom of my heart – Ines and Carlota, thank you!

To the fans: your invaluable support over these years is something I will never forget. My main goal as a player has always been to step onto the pitch with passion, to make you proud, and to feel that your interests are being well represented on the field. I hope you have felt that in every game,” Silva wrote.

Silva, who also expressed gratitude to Pep Guardiola, all club staff, and his teammates, said the atmosphere at the training base felt like family:

“Thank you to the club, to Pep, to all the staff, and to my teammates who have been with me over these nine years – for all the memories and for giving me the opportunity to be part of this journey.

The atmosphere we created every day at the training base helped me feel at home – to realize that I was part of a big family,” Silva wrote.

He also specifically addressed the fans, noting that their support always gave him strength. According to him, his primary goal was always to defend the club's honor on the field:

“Let's enjoy these last few weeks together and fight for everything else this season can still offer us,” Silva wrote on social media.

While Silva is leaving the club, he emphasized that he will remain a lifelong fan of Manchester City. He expressed confidence in the team, stating that many more trophies await in the future:

“I came to the club as a Manchester City player, but I leave as a lifelong Manchester City fan. Keep supporting this young team, and I am sure it will give you many more wonderful memories in the future,” Silva wrote on social media.

For now, the footballer has stated that he is ready to give his all in the final weeks of the season and fight for more victories with the team.
