Serge Gnabry injury a major blow for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich clinched their 35th Bundesliga title with a 4–2 win over VfB Stuttgart. However, an unexpected injury sustained in Saturday's training dampened the team's mood.
Attacking midfielder Serge Gnabry tore his adductor muscle during a penalty shoot-out exercise in final training. He missed the match against Stuttgart and is likely to miss the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico with Germany.
Manager Vincent Kompany called the incident "very unfortunate": "It happened during the penalty shoot-out. It took us all by surprise. We wish him all the best. Serge has done an incredible amount for us this season."
Joshua Kimmich told DAZN: "Actually, Serge is the one responsible for the team's atmosphere. He's very important to me both as a player and as a person. I miss him terribly. It's a massive loss. I hope we can pick up the pieces somehow."
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl added: "He is composed, but it is tragic. He's 30 and I don't know how much longer he'll play, but this might be his last chance to play in a World Cup."
Club president Herbert Hainer also expressed his regret: "It's bitter, and I'm truly sorry. I tried to call him today but couldn't get through. I understand — sometimes you don't feel like picking up. We'll lift his spirits, of course."
