In one of the most intense matches of the latest Premier League round, Aston Villa defeated Sunderland 4–3 at home.
Sunderland made a strong start — Chris Rigg put the visitors ahead in the 9th minute. However, Aston Villa quickly responded: Ollie Watkins scored a brace (2' and 36'), making it 2–1.
At the start of the second half, Morgan Rogers added a third goal in the 47th minute, giving the hosts a 3–1 lead. But Sunderland refused to give up: Trai Hume struck in the 86th minute, and Wilson Isidore equalised at 3–3 in the 87th.
A dramatic finale followed as Tammy Abraham scored the winner deep into stoppage time (90+3'), securing three vital points for Aston Villa.
