Eldor Shomurodov completes permanent move to Basaksehir and signs contract

A new chapter has begun in the career of Uzbekistan national team captain Eldor Shomurodov. The forward has completed a permanent transfer from AS Roma to the Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir.

Previously, the Roman club had sent the 30-year-old forward to the Turkish club on a loan basis. The agreement included a clause for a permanent buyout of the player. This option has now been officially exercised.

According to information reported by Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, after the specified conditions were met, Istanbul Basaksehir fully acquired Shomurodov for a fee of 2.8 million euros.

The Turkish club has reached a long-term agreement with the Uzbek striker. Under the new contract, Shomurodov will represent the team until the summer of 2029. At the same time, AS Roma has retained the right to receive 10 percent of any future transfer fee for the player.

During the current season, Eldor Shomurodov has been performing productively in the Turkish championship. He has appeared in 30 matches, scoring 18 goals and providing 4 assists. This performance has placed him in second position on the top scorers list.

Currently, the top spot is held by Trabzonspor forward Onuachu, who has 22 goals to his credit. Consequently, the race for the golden boot is expected to become even more competitive during the remainder of the season.

In short, this permanent transfer to Basaksehir represents not only a vote of confidence for Shomurodov but also opens the door to new opportunities. If he maintains this pace, he may well attract the attention of even larger clubs in the future.
