The wind of big changes is blowing at Manchester City. It has become known that the club's leadership is seriously preparing for Pep Guardiola's possible departure at the end of the current season.
According to The Guardian, the "Citizens" are considering Enzo Maresca as the main candidate for the head coach position. At the moment, the talks between the parties are going on in a positive vein.
This environment is by no means alien to Maresca. In 2022–2023 he worked at Manchester City as Guardiola's assistant and mastered well the club's internal system and playing philosophy.
The Italian specialist was relieved of his duties as Chelsea head coach in January this year and has not taken charge of a new team since. This further increases the likelihood of his return to City.
