A big "clean-out" at Chelsea: a number of players are expected to leave
In brief

Chelsea is reportedly preparing for a major squad "cleanup" ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window to restructure the team for a new phase of development. Several players, including defenders Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi, are facing uncertain futures due to limited playing time or potential permanent moves to loan clubs. The overhaul is also expected to extend to the attacking line, as the club looks to offload surplus talent to ensure a more competitive and streamlined roster. This strategic downsizing highlights Chelsea's commitment to refreshing its squad and moving on from players who no longer fit the club's long-term vision.

At the London club Chelsea, serious changes are expected on the eve of the summer transfer window. According to the Football Transfers publication, it is highly likely that several footballers will leave the team.

Above all, the future of central defender Axel Disasi is unclear. He is currently playing on loan at West Ham and regularly featuring in the starting line-up. If the Hammers retain their Premier League place, there is a possibility of a full transfer for the footballer. Otherwise, Chelsea will look for new options to sell him.

There is also enough uncertainty in the attacking line. Although Nicolas Jackson wants to stay at Bayern, his play has not fully satisfied the Munich club. For this reason, the likelihood of the Senegalese forward's return to London is growing.

At the same time, the option of selling Alejandro Garnacho for around 40 million pounds is also being considered. The previous head coach Liam Rosenior's failure to give a clear position on his future has influenced this decision.

Another of the probable departures is Liam Delap. In the current season in the Premier League, he has scored just one goal, and this result is insufficient for competition at a high level.

In defence, the situation of Benoît Badiashile is complicated. He has dropped out of the starting line-up and has not appeared in the Premier League since January 2026. For this reason, his transfer also looks almost certain.

In short, a big "clean-out" is starting at Chelsea. The club wants to rebuild the squad to move to a new stage and is ready to say goodbye to a number of footballers in this process.
