A new stage is beginning in Central Asian football. 49-year-old specialist Igor Angelovskiy has been officially appointed as the head coach of the Tajikistan national team.
It is noted that a clear and ambitious goal has been set for the new coach — to thoroughly prepare the team for the final stage of the 2027 Asian Cup, which will be held in Saudi Arabia. This requires high results and consistent performance from the national team.
Angelovskiy is considered one of the experienced and proven specialists in the world of football. He previously managed the North Macedonia national team and led the team to the European Championship for the first time in history in 2020. This result is regarded as one of the greatest achievements of his coaching career.
He has also worked effectively at the club level. In particular, he won the championship with "Rabotnichki" in the 2013/14 season and won the national cup twice. Additionally, the specialist has worked with clubs such as "Goritsa", "Kaspiy", and "Etnikos Ahnas".
As a reminder, on April 15, Goran Stevanovich was dismissed from the post of head coach of the Tajikistan national team. Thus, a new era has begun for the team.
