Vinicius Junior could have almost become a Barcelona player

Unexpected news has emerged in the world of Spanish football: former Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu revealed that Vinicius Junior was very close to joining the Catalans at the beginning of his career. In an interview with ESPN Deportes, Bartomeu confirmed that an initial agreement had been reached between the parties. This is reported by Goal.com .
"We had advanced negotiations with Vinicius Junior. We spoke with his family and agents, and there was even an initial agreement. However, Real Madrid came up with a better offer than ours and signed the player," says Bartomeu.
Real Madrid announced in May 2017 that they had paid 45 million euros for the Brazilian talent. Vinicius officially became a Madrid player in July 2018, after turning 18. Over the past period, he has managed to become one of the best forwards in the world.
Vinicius Junior has made 372 appearances for the Madrid club, scoring 127 goals and providing 100 assists. Currently, Real Madrid is dealing with rumors about internal problems and discord within the team, although some reports regarding Antonio Rüdiger have not been confirmed.
