Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has urged the club's hierarchy to abandon the pursuit of Xabi Alonso and appoint Cesc Fabregas as head coach instead. Gallas believes that Fabregas, who achieved historic results with Italian club Como and secured European qualification, is the ideal candidate for the London club. This is reported by Goal.com .
Gallas noted that while Alonso had a fantastic season with Bayer Leverkusen, his experience at Real Madrid was not as successful. The former player emphasized that young coaches need time and that the style of play Fabregas has instilled in his team is well-suited for Chelsea's young squad.
Gallas also addressed the issue of discipline in the Chelsea dressing room. According to him, when working with today's young players, a coach must possess not only tactical knowledge but also a psychological approach. Careful communication is required with players like Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella.
Chelsea is currently in a difficult position in the Premier League, and the fate of their season will be decided in the FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 16. The club's management must reach a final decision regarding a new coach for next season.
