The future of sporting director Max Eberl at Bayern Munich remains in question. Former defender Holger Badstuber believes that Eberl could soon leave the German record champions. Badstuber notes that the internal atmosphere and discrepancies in the management's vision could lead to such unexpected changes. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
"A lot is happening behind the scenes. How do they want to shape the team and how well does this structure fit together? As it stands, Max Eberl is close to leaving. Of course, the situation could change, but we have to wait for the final decision of the supervisory board," Badstuber said in an interview with Bild.
Club president Uli Hoeneß also commented on the situation, not hiding his doubts regarding the extension of Eberl's contract, which runs until 2027. Such open statements appearing in the press usually signal serious changes within the team. Max Eberl joined Bayern in the spring of 2024 following his stints at Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig.
At the same time, concerning news is circulating regarding the team's left-back Alphonso Davies. The Canadian player is at risk of missing the start of the World Cup due to injury. This could be a serious blow for both Bayern and the Canadian national team.
