Young Uzbek wrestlers win five medals at the Asian Championship

The U-17 Asian Wrestling Championship continues in Vietnam. Another day of the continental tournament proved successful for the Uzbekistan national team. Our compatriots won a total of 5 medals in Greco-Roman and women's wrestling events.
The highlight of the day was the performance of Abdulaziz Xolmirzayev in the -80 kg weight category. He surpassed all his opponents to claim the gold medal. Additionally, Sardor Mahmudov reached the final in the -65 kg category and secured the silver medal.
Bronze medals were added to our team's tally by Qodirjon Fozilov (-71 kg), Zaytuna Saparova (-40 kg), and Siysagul Sarsenbayeva (-61 kg). These results show that our young wrestlers are gaining valuable experience on the international stage.
In the end, the Uzbekistan Greco-Roman wrestling team accumulated 161 points, finishing second in the overall team standings behind Iran. This result once again proves that the Uzbekistan youth wrestling school is a strong competitor at the continental level.
In short, young Uzbek wrestlers won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals at the U-17 Asian Championship in Vietnam. This is just the beginning of a long journey — this generation is ready to make their mark on the senior stage in the future.
