Neymar to attend World Cup despite injury: Ancelotti makes statement

Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti shared the latest updates regarding star forward Neymar. The Italian tactician emphasized that despite concerns over the player's physical condition, he remains a key part of the plans for the 2026 World Cup. The 34-year-old, currently playing for Santos, arrived at the national team camp with an injury, sparking rumors about his potential exclusion from the squad. This is reported by Goal.com .
Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Neymar will lead the Brazil national team to the upcoming tournament. Speaking to journalists at the training base in Teresopolis, the coach announced that the player's recovery is progressing well and he will not be dropped from the final 26-man roster. "I can say for sure that Neymar will be with us. We believe he will be ready by the first match against Morocco, or at the latest for the game against Haiti," the coach said.
The situation escalated after Neymar arrived at the national team camp by helicopter. Medical examinations revealed a grade two calf strain in his right leg. Although Santos labeled it as mere swelling, team doctors determined the issue was more serious. Nevertheless, Ancelotti defended his decision, stating that the player's morale is high and he will return to action soon.
The former Real Madrid manager added that he has held tactical meetings with Neymar regarding the tournament in North America. Despite doubts in the Brazilian media about the player's preparation, Ancelotti is confident that the forward is mentally ready for the major challenges ahead. According to the coach, the Brazilian Football Confederation has been monitoring the situation closely since the day of the injury.
