Mikel Arteta admits PSG is the best in the world

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has called on the club's board to be more active in the transfer market following their Champions League final defeat. Although the London club won the Premier League this season, they lost 4-3 on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain in the final in Budapest. Arteta called the opposing team the "best in the world" at the moment. This is reported by Goal.com reports .

After the match at the Puskas Arena, Arteta emphasized that serious decisions must be made in the summer transfer window. In his opinion, to close the gap with the European elite, the club must act "very ambitiously, quickly and intelligently." According to reports, Arsenal is considering Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez as a primary target to strengthen their attacking line.

During the match, PSG had absolute dominance in ball possession (75.3%). Acknowledging the technical superiority of Luis Enrique's team, Arteta said: "Congratulations to PSG and especially to Luis, because they are, in my opinion, the best team in the world. I have never seen what they are capable of with the ball and in individual actions before. They forced us to play in a style we didn't want."

The match was not without controversy regarding officiating. Arteta was unhappy that a penalty was not awarded for a foul by Nuno Mendes on Noni Madueke in extra time. According to the coach, this situation could have changed the outcome of the game, but the referee's decision went against Arsenal.
