Copilot starts without permission on Windows 11
Copilot, the AI assistant in Windows 11, is being activated without user consent, according to Wylsa.com.

A developer of the REKT Wallet crypto app shared on GitHub that Copilot turned on by itself in Visual Studio Code, gaining access to personal files, API keys, YAML secrets, and developer security certificates.

Users on Reddit have also reported similar experiences, despite previously disabling Copilot entirely. It's likely that Microsoft unintentionally reset privacy settings and re-enabled the assistant in the latest Windows 11 update.

Getting rid of Copilot isn’t easy — it can only be removed temporarily via PowerShell. However, it tends to return with every new system update unless Microsoft removes it again.
