Gigabyte Technology has introduced the Aorus RTX 5090 AI Box — the most powerful external GPU to date, as reported by Overclockers.
The unit is based on the desktop version of the GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card (not the mobile version), and it connects via Thunderbolt 5.
Inside the Aorus AI Box, Gigabyte engineers included a built-in power supply (exact wattage not disclosed) and a liquid cooling system. The device is equipped with three DisplayPort 2.1 outputs, one HDMI 2.1, RJ-45 Ethernet, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, and one USB Type-C.
The Thunderbolt 5 interface supports Bandwidth Boost mode, delivering up to 120 Gbps in one direction and 40 Gbps in the other.
The external GPU is expected to go on sale in the coming months. The estimated price is between $3000 and $4000.
