Elon Musk’s Boring Company is planning to build a tunnel system beneath Nashville, Tennessee, for Tesla vehicles, according to TechCrunch.com.
The project will be developed in partnership with city officials and aims to improve passenger transit and reduce surface-level traffic congestion.
The tunnels will allow Tesla electric cars to travel at high speeds, connecting major locations like downtown Nashville and the airport.
Boring Company previously launched a similar tunnel network in Las Vegas, and this new project marks the next stage of expansion.
Engineering and feasibility studies are currently underway, with a timeline to be announced later.
If completed, the project would make Nashville home to one of the most modern transportation systems in the U.S.
