Huawei is creating the largest AI chip cluster

China's Huawei Corporation announced plans to create the world's most powerful AI chip cluster. The new Atlas 950 SuperCluster will combine more than 500 thousand of Ascend's own chips.
The company also announced the release of three new Ascend chip models by 2028. Each of them will be twice as productive as the previous one.
This statement came amid US restrictions on the supply of advanced Nvidia chips to China. Analysts believe that Huawei's steps reflect Beijing's pursuit of technological independence.
