Apple Vision Pro gets X-Plane 12 simulator

The popular flight simulator X-Plane 12 is officially making its way to the Apple Vision Pro. The development team recently announced that users will soon be able to experience the highly realistic aviation game directly on their mixed-reality headsets. This exciting integration is made possible through the advanced Nvidia CloudXR 6.0 technology. Reports Rozetked.me.

To make this work, a dedicated companion application will be released in the App Store this spring. Once the app is opened, X-Plane 12 will automatically recognize the Apple Vision Pro headset. Players can then seamlessly stream the simulator from their personal computers or an Nvidia RTX-powered cloud service straight to the device. The upcoming visionOS 26.4 update, which is currently in its beta testing phase, will fully support this new streaming capability.

The simulator will take full advantage of Apple's ARKit to ensure precise tracking of the virtual cockpit and accurate image recognition. Furthermore, the integration of CloudXR technology guarantees high-resolution streaming with minimal delay. It also supports foveated rendering, which optimizes performance based on where the user is looking, all while strictly protecting the privacy of the player's eye-tracking data.
