Russian Post hides details in parcel tracking system

Russia's postal service, "Post of Russia," has simplified its package tracking system, limiting users to viewing only key stages of a shipment's journey, such as acceptance, dispatch, arrival, and readiness for delivery. This change, effective May 1, 2026, means that detailed tracking information, including sorting centers and intermediate points, will no longer be available. The decision to streamline the service was made based on customer feedback, aiming to reduce information overload for users. However, complete tracking data will still be retained internally for delivery monitoring purposes.
"Pochta Rossii" has simplified its shipment tracking service. In the updated version, users no longer see the detailed movement chain of a shipment. This was reported by Ixbt.com xabar.

The tracking card displays only key stages, including messages about acceptance at the post office, dispatch, arrival at the destination, and readiness for delivery.
The changes took effect on May 1, 2026. Previously, the service showed a detailed history of the route, including sorting centers and other intermediate points.
Following the update, some information regarding older, already delivered shipments has also disappeared. Additionally, users can no longer track changes in the weight of the shipment.
Company representatives stated that this decision was made based on customer feedback. The service statuses were removed from public access to avoid overloading users with excessive information.
At the same time, full tracking data with legal significance remains stored in the internal system and is used to monitor delivery.
