Barry Diller: As AGI approaches, trust becomes a secondary issue

Media mogul Barry Diller emphasized that he has a good personal relationship with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and considers him a sincere person. Although Altman has been accused of manipulation by some former colleagues, Diller does not doubt his values. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
However, speaking at The Wall Street Journal conference, Diller stated that the main problem in the field of artificial intelligence is not personal trust, but the unforeseen consequences of the technology. In his opinion, even the creators of AI themselves cannot fully imagine what will happen in the future.
Diller noted that AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) will bring major changes to humanity. According to him, technological progress has accelerated so much that we are very close to the AGI era, but sufficient protective mechanisms to control this process have not yet been developed.
The media expert warned that if humanity does not maintain control over artificial intelligence, AGI will begin to set its own rules. Once this happens, there will be no turning back, so it is necessary to take safety measures now.
