Boeing 737 MAX 8 sets a record flight distance without refueling

A Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft belonging to Air Europa has set a new flight distance record for its family. The plane flew from the Boeing factory in Seattle to Madrid, covering 9,054 kilometers in 10 hours and 7 minutes. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports .
In fact, this flight was a technical ferry flight conducted without passengers or cargo. According to the plan, the aircraft was supposed to stop in Glasgow for refueling, as the typical range of the 737 MAX 8 model is approximately 6,500–7,590 kilometers.
However, encountering strong tailwinds over the Atlantic Ocean significantly increased the aircraft's speed. The ground speed reached up to 1,000 kilometers per hour, which allowed for fuel savings and enabled a direct flight to Madrid without an intermediate stop.
Experts note that such situations can occur due to strong winds over the Atlantic, but this case is considered a rare and fortunate exception rather than the norm for medium-range aircraft.
