World's largest offshore wind farm under construction in the UK

Danish company Cadeler announced the installation of the first foundation for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm located in the North Sea. This project, being implemented by energy company Orsted, will become the world's largest offshore wind farm when it becomes operational in 2027. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
The station is being built 120 kilometers off the coast of the UK, specifically Norfolk. The total capacity of the project will be 2.9 gigawatts, which will be enough to provide electricity to more than 3 million British households.
Builders have already installed the main foundation for the first wind turbine. Huge steel piles driven into the seabed will serve as supports for the turbines. A total of 197 such structures are planned to be installed as part of the project.
The specialized vessel Wind Ally and other technical equipment are being used for these works. Hornsea 3 is part of the Hornsea Zone, the UK's major wind energy cluster. This project is of great importance for the country's transition to "green" energy and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
From an economic perspective, the project is expected to create about 5,000 jobs during the construction phase. Once the station is fully operational, more than a thousand permanent jobs will be created to maintain the infrastructure.
