Solution for GPS outages: New feature launched in Drivee app

The ride-hailing service Drivee has introduced a new convenience for drivers: a manual geolocation adjustment feature. Now, in cases of unstable GPS signals, drivers can independently set their location on the map or enter a specific address. Developers state that this innovation allows for faster acceptance of relevant orders and prevents downtime. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

This feature was successfully tested in Samara, Tolyatti, and Volgograd. According to service analytics, 70–85% of drivers actively used the manual geolocation setting. As a result, the number of accepted offers increased by 6%, and completed trips by 5%. Currently, this feature is active in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sochi, and several other major cities.

According to Drivee CEO Yegor Smetanin, there has been an increase in driver reports regarding incorrect geolocation detection in various cities recently. Due to GPS signal malfunctions, there were cases where drivers accepted orders located on the other side of the city.

The company's main goal is to enable users to plan trips in advance, even in situations where the GPS signal is unstable. The manual adjustment feature helps prevent such 'teleportations' and keeps drivers online without unnecessary interruptions.
