Microsoft has announced a major update for its Microsoft 365 Copilot AI assistant. This update includes both visual changes and a significant boost in performance. One of the key changes is the transition to a "progressive disclosure" concept. Now, the Copilot interface adapts to the context of the user's request and dynamically provides only the necessary tools. Visually, the assistant has a cleaner and more minimalist design. The query input box has been significantly enlarged and now supports internal text formatting. Additionally, a side panel for extra elements has been added to the app, making navigation and feature usage easier.
Within office apps like Word or Excel, Copilot can be called directly from a paragraph or table cell. The new Work IQ intelligent layer is responsible for this approach, suggesting context-dependent actions. Furthermore, users now have the ability to choose between different AI models to perform specific tasks.
