Telegram works again via proxy in Russia: only in unofficial PC version

Developers have created a new fork (modification) of the Telegram Desktop application, where MTProto proxies have started working stably again. According to the "Kod Durova" publication, this PC client uses special modifications that make traffic less recognizable to Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) systems. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .

The authors explain that the standard Telegram Desktop application sent the first packet of the TLS connection (ClientHello) in a highly predictable format when connecting via proxy. DPI systems easily identified this unique signature and blocked MTProto traffic.

In the new fork, this pattern has been changed: for every connection, the client regenerates the ClientHello packet. It randomly selects digital fingerprints typical of Chrome or Firefox browsers, and adds variability to packet transmission parameters and timestamps.

However, this solution has its limitations. It is an unofficial build, currently only available for the Windows operating system, and has not been integrated into the main Telegram client. Nevertheless, against the backdrop of mass VPN and proxy outages in Russia, it has become a working alternative for PC users.
