The President visited the furniture industrial zone in the Khanka district

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the furniture small industrial zone established in the Khanka district as part of his visit to the Khorezm region.

In accordance with the resolution of the Head of State dated June 21, 2021 on the development of the furniture industry, such industrial zones are being established in districts with potential.

It is noted that in the Khanka district, there are more than 140 entrepreneurs in this direction, and more than 500 households have small workshops. Until now, most of them worked in cramped spaces and in unfavorable conditions.

For this reason, 10 hectares of land were allocated and a small industrial zone was established, which includes exhibition and trade facilities for the cluster production of furniture products. 61 enterprises worth $ 10 million are operating here. 650 people were employed.

The enterprises have been equipped with modern equipment imported from countries such as Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, and China. An annual production capacity of 108 billion soums has been created for furniture for homes, offices, hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, and social institutions.

The President inspected the work process in the workshops. He noted the need to take advantage of the increased construction volume in the Khorezm region, the construction of many houses, hotels, buildings, and structures, and to form orders for enterprises and localize new types of products.

A training center for the training of designers and technologists has been established in the small furniture industrial zone. Qualified specialists from Turkey have been involved in it. During the conversation with them, it was discussed about ensuring the quality of furniture and increasing the experience of young people in this regard.

It is planned to export the products manufactured here to foreign markets. More than $ 3 million is planned to be exported. The industrial zone pays attention to energy efficiency, solar panels have been installed at all enterprises.
