A new subsidy and grant system launched to support master farmers

In Uzbekistan, a new financial support system is being introduced to further encourage farmers and household plot owners and to help organize their labor more efficiently. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.

According to the decision of the government dated May 13, 2025, the “Regulations on the procedure for supporting the activities of farmers and household plot owners” has been approved. Under this regulation, subsidies and grants will be allocated from a special fund.

The new system provides financial support in the following areas:

• Each year, grants of up to 100 times the base calculation amount (BCA) will be awarded to master farmers who implement exemplary, innovative, and progressive projects in 500 mahallas across the country.
  
• Master farmers who organize short-term training courses in agriculture and share their knowledge with others will receive subsidies of up to 15 BCA per course.
  
• Master farmers who organize the cultivation of export-oriented products in at least half of the households in their mahalla and help boost the local economy will be eligible for subsidies of up to 100 million UZS.
  

The recipients of these subsidies will be determined based on assessments conducted by the “mahalla seven” team. Contributions to local entrepreneurship, practical results, and efficiency will be considered.

Proposals for receiving subsidies will be reviewed by the authorized ministry within 10 working days, after which the most suitable candidates will be selected. Then, the regional labor offices will transfer the funds to the personal bank cards of the master farmers through the “Online Mahalla” platform within one working day.

This new system aims to expand advanced practices in agriculture, increase household incomes, and enhance the country’s export potential.
