Environmental information will be open from 2025

Environmental information will be open from 2025
A new step is being taken in Uzbekistan to strengthen transparency and public control in the field of environmental protection. In accordance with the presidential decree, starting from December 1, 2025, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change will openly provide information on state monitoring of the natural environment.

This information will be constantly published in electronic databases for the public, allowing citizens to directly obtain information about the state of the environment.

What will be included in the open database?

The following environmentally important information will be made available to the public:
  • On trees and seedlings planted annually within the framework of the “Green Space” project;
  • Applications from legal entities and individuals for permits to cut down trees and shrubs;
  • Information on persons who have carried out illegal excavation work in water bodies.

Annual environmental events

According to the resolution, the following comprehensive events will be held annually from 2025:
  • Republican eco-championships under the slogan “New tree - new breath”;
  • Monthly campaigns and propaganda on the topic “Our neighborhood - a waste-free zone”.

Youth will be involved in environmental activism

In addition, the “Uzbekistan Eco-Volunteer Students” movement will be organized with the participation of students of higher educational institutions. It is expected that this will ensure the active participation of young people in environmental issues.

From the editorial staff of Zamin.uz:
These reforms will not only increase the transparency of environmental information, but also be an important step in forming an eco-culture among citizens, especially young people. Are you ready to actively participate in this process?
