We look younger at a glance: have Uzbeks found the secret to longevity?

The National Statistics Committee has published new data on the health and quality of life of the population of our country. According to it, life expectancy at birth in Uzbekistan in 2024 will reach 75.1 years. This indicator indicates a significant improvement compared to previous years and is evidence of the improvement of living conditions, quality of medical services and general well-being of the population of our country.

It is worth noting that life expectancy at birth in Uzbekistan has been steadily increasing over the past three decades. For example, in the first years of the country's independence, in 1991, this indicator was only 66.4 years. By 1995, this figure had increased significantly and amounted to 69.1 years. At the beginning of the 21st century, in 2000, it rose to 70.8 years, and by 2005 to 71.8 years.

The trend of consistent growth in life expectancy has continued in recent years. By 2010, life expectancy was 73 years, and in 2015 it reached 73.6 years. Interestingly, despite the decline in these indicators worldwide in 2020 due to the pandemic, only a small decline was observed in Uzbekistan, amounting to 73.4 years.

Experts note that the wide-ranging reforms being implemented in our country in the quality of life and healthcare system, convenient access to modern medical services for citizens, the popularization of a healthy lifestyle, and the widespread introduction of preventive measures among the population are among the main reasons for these positive results.

Specialists in the field of medicine and healthcare predict that these indicators will continue to improve in the coming years. In particular, along with the widespread implementation of modern technologies and innovative medical methods, comprehensive programs aimed at increasing health literacy among the population are of great importance in this regard.
