Tragedy in Qashqadaryo: 3-Year-Old Child Injured by Combine Mechanism
A heartbreaking incident occurred in Uzbekistan’s Qashqadaryo region. On June 15, in the village of Umakay, Kokdali district, a 3-year-old child suffered severe injuries after accidentally falling into the cutting mechanism of a combine harvester.

According to the parents, the child approached the agricultural machinery located in their household’s yard and, while left unsupervised, fell into the active equipment. As a result, both of the child's arms were seriously injured — with broken bones and crushed muscle tissue in the wrist area.

After receiving urgent assistance at the scene, the child was transported to the Samarkand branch of the Republican Scientific-Practical Center for Emergency Medical Care. Upon arrival, the child was in a state of severe shock.

Under the supervision of highly qualified surgeon Panji Nabiyevich Roziyev, an emergency surgery was performed. During the procedure, the broken bones and damaged muscles in the right arm were reconstructed. Unfortunately, the lower third of the left arm was beyond saving and had to be fully amputated.

Currently, the child remains under the supervision of doctors. Authorities have launched an investigation into the causes of the incident and possible violations of safety protocols.

Experts strongly urge parents not to leave children unattended near agricultural machinery, as even a moment’s carelessness can lead to irreversible consequences.
